DOBB AND THE FOLLOWERS OF FENRIR
The low houses were silent and the torch lights hardly penetrated the shadows. Almost all the fishermen were fall asleep since long time. The dawn would have arrived soon, and with it another hard day of work as ever after all. The small harbour, in the years was become a little center of commerce. Its extremely favorable position, almost to the center of the oriental coast of the Earths, allowed large traffics with the distant populations and therefore, for the skilled mercants as were those of the south, it represented a real bridge toward interregional traffics. The overlooking waters in front of the harbour were calm and enough sure despite the near Orkland. The orks, were not very inclinable to ransack the human ships, they preferred, instead, the assaults and the ambushes on the firm earth: in fact, was more dangerous try to reach the harbour by land rather than by sea. Besides the men's skills in sailing was much more developed of theirs, that exclusively founded their sailng on the push of the oars. The population of the coastal town, lived by merchants and by fishermen, was mainly human but enumerated even a little comunity of elves and dwarves, these last ones remained almost always on the firm earth, devoted to the commerce and to the craft. The cohabitation among these races was enough calm however. The party of the arrival of the spring was just concluded, the traditional games were developed and, as every year, its had cheered the evening: from the hunting to the witch to the fire of the dragon, from the attack of the goblins to the pole of the dwarf. A lot of barrels were emptied: the beer of Grudger was ended before the others, immediately followed by the cider of Yalethén and by the Bergian’s wine. Slowly all the participants, cradled by the music of the minstrels, they were withdrawn in their own houses and in the inns, but some of them still lay, completely intoxicate, on the roads, alchool had taken their limbs before these had succeeded in bringing back them to houses. So they had fallen asleep anywhere, exhausted and benumbed by the beer. A party of dwarves of the ditches scurried around shouting and intoxicated in the alleys of the low city next to the docks of the harbour. Anybody, if not some darker shadow of the others, noticed them. Not even the independent thieves were not interested to the dwarves of the ditches: in fact nothing of jewel would they will found among their personal objects. The Guild of the thieves, already rested instead, being the party of the arriving spring, also from them, sacred day and entirely devote to the relaxation.
